DICKINSON, N.D. – The Valley City State golf teams competed Sunday at the Dickinson State Spring Invite where the Viking women finished in third place and the Viking men placed seventh at the par-72 Heart River Golf Course.
The tournament was slated to be played Sunday-Monday to make up a 36-hole tournament but the final round was canceled due to snow in Dickinson.
VCSU's
Sydney Carlson paced the Viking women with a 93 and
Winter Oldrock carded a 94 to finish in 12
th and 13
th place, respectively.
Sydney Staus finished with a 97 to tie for 15
th place while
Kathleen Vetter posted a 100 to place 18
th.
Sarah Monilaws rounded out the Vikings with a 157 to place 25
th. The Vikings posted a 384 to finish in third place out of four times.
Jamestown took the team title with a 337 team score, led by individual medalist Celi Nelson who carded an 80 on the day.
The Viking men were paced by an 82 from
Zach St. Aubin who finished in 14
th place overall.
Owen Haase carded an 87 and tied for 26
th place while
Jacob Hendrickson posted a 90 to tie for 30
th.
Wyatt Meisch placed 34
th with a 92 on the day and
Howard Neustel placed 38
th after posting a 99.
Dickinson State's Blue team and the University of Jamestown tied for the team title after posting a 314. Dickinson State's Blake Barner won individual medalist honors after firing a two-over-par 74.
