ONALASKA, WIS. – Valley City State's
Kathleen Vetter and
Sydney Carlson each earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors Tuesday after concluding play at the NSAA Championships, played at The Golf Club at Cedar Creek in Onalaska, Wis.
Vetter led the Viking women and earned her first All-Conference recognition after placing ninth at the NSAA Championships. Vetter carded a 168 (84-84) on Monday and Tuesday. Carlson moved up eight spots after firing a final-round 82 to secure her second All-Conference honor. Carlson finished with a two-day 180 (98-82) to place 14
th overall.
Honorable Mention All-Conference is awarded to golfers who finish eighth through fourteenth at the NSAA Championships. The top seven finishers earn First Team All-Conference.
VCSU's
Sydney Staus and
Henrik Jacobsen were named Champions of Character, which recognizes the student-athletes who best represent the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
The Viking women and men each placed fifth out of six NSAA teams. The Viking women finished with a 738 (372-366) and VCSU's men totaled a 698 (343-355).
On the women's side,
Winter Oldrock finished 21
st followed by
Sydney Staus in 22
nd and
Paige Hulm in 23
rd. Oldrock totaled a 193 (94-99) at the tournament while Staus carded a 197 (96-101).
Paige Hulm finished with a 199 (98-101).
VCSU's men were led by
Grant Inniger who carded a 164 (81-83) to place 17
th overall.
Owen Haase improved three spots to finish in 23
rd after carding a 175 (90-85).
Zach St. Aubin and
Brett Limke each recorded a two-day 180 to tie for 24
th. St. Aubin went 88-92 while Limke was 84-96 at the tournament. Wyatt Meish rounded out the Viking men in 29
th place after carding a 187 (96-107).
