VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The Valley City State Men's and Women's Track and Field teams will be in South Dakota this weekend for the Frontier Conference Indoor Championships.
The meet will be held at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex the campus of South Dakota State University in Brookings.
Some athletes to watch at this weekend for the women are
Frida Barrera. She has already set the school record in the 800 and 1-Mile.
Jonica Taylor is coming off personal bests in the 300 and 400 meters at the Bison Open two weeks ago.
Grace Backstrom has competed in nine different events this year and has excelled at all of them.
For the men,
Brock Norton had a PR in the 300 meters two weeks ago and the 200 and 400 meters the weekend before.
Zach Baumgartner leads a talented group of distance runners for the men. He had a personal best in the 800 two weeks ago at the Bison Open.
In the field events
Zeke Barnick has done well in the high jump. He has been very consistent around 1.91 meters this season.
Cameron Champagnie had season best triple jump at the Bison Open two weeks ago.
The meet begins on Saturday with events at 5:00pm. Field events begin at 11:00am on Sunday and the Running events begin at 12:00 p.m.
