VALLEY CITY, N.D. Two Vikings earned All-Conference honors at the Frontier Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Jordan Mount and Frida Barrera both earned All-Conference.
This is the fifth All-Conference honor for Mount after earning four (2 indoor and 2 outdoor) last season as a freshman. Mount looks to add to his All-Conference honors as the outdoor season is about to begin.
Mount was All-Conference in the Long Jump with his third-place finish jump of 6.73M.
Cameron Champagnie was right behind in fourth place.
It has been a banner year for Valley City State's Frida Barrera, and it's not over. After a great Cross-Country season that saw her not only qualify for the National Meet but have the best finish in school history at a National Meet in the 6K Race when she placed 73
rd.
Now you can add All-Conference to her resume.
The freshman from Clara City, Minnesota placed second in the 800 Meters and the 1-Mile Run to earn All-Conference accolades. She nearly made it 3 for 3 when she placed fourth in the 3000 Meters.
In all three races, Barrera set the school record. The 800 and 1-mile she set earlier this season. The 3000 Meters was set last year by Karly Just only to have Barrera break it by 3.76 seconds at the Frontier Conference meet in Brookings, South Dakota last weekend.
The Vikings are off until March 21
st when they begin the outdoor season with the Marauder Outdoor Open at the University of Mary in Bismarck.
