Vikings fall to (RV) Indiana Tech in Arizona finale
TUCSON, ARIZ. – Valley City State wrapped up their trip to Tucson, Arizona with a 7-1 loss to (RV) Indiana Tech on Thursday. The Vikings ended their nine-game trip with a 3-6 record.
Valley City State is now 10-11 on the season. Indiana Tech, who beat Mayville State earlier in the day 3-2, is now 14-8.
The Vikings scored in the top of first when
Pascale Kihn hit a sinking line drive to right that got by the right fielder and Kihn circled the bases for an inside-the-park home run to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead.
The Warriors tied it in the bottom second when a run scored on a wild pitch.
In the third, Indiana Tech scored three runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead. Carlye Walter drove in two with a single. Then scored on Alyssa Harvey's single to make it 4-1.
Two more runs came across for Tech in the bottom of the fourth on RBI singles by Alyssa Fox, Haylee Pruitt 6to make it 6-1.
Mikayla Pruitt's RBI single in the bottom of the fifth capped the scoring with the Warriors on top 7-1.
Pascale Kihn had three of the Vikings four hits by going 3 for 3 with the home run.
Ahleeya Nicola had the other hit. She was 1 for 3.
