Hazelton earns conference Pitcher of the Week Honors

HELENA, Mont. – Valley City State (N.D.) and Dickinson State (N.D.) were listed on the second edition of the 2025-26 Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Softball Players-of-the-Week, announced by the conference office Monday.
 
Hazelton earned the first POTW honors for Valley City State in the Frontier Conference. The Vikings head back to Sioux Center, Iowa for the second weekend of the American State Bank Sports Complex Softball Classic this Friday and Saturday.
 
VCSU is 4-4 on the season heading into next weekend.
 
Pitcher of the Week: Maddy Hazelton, Valley City State (N.D.)

Hazelton, a sophomore pitcher/utility from Winona, Minn., was named the Pitcher-of-the-Week.

Hazelton helped Valley City State (N.D.) go 3-1 record for the weekend in the American State Bank Sports Complex dome tournament in Sioux Center, Iowa. 

She allowed three hits while striking out a career high 13 batters in VCSU's 5-2 win over Briar Cliff (Iowa).  She followed up with 12-strikeout performance in Vikings' 3-1 win over College of Saint Mary (Neb.). 

It was the first time in her career that she pitched back-to-back 10-plus strikeouts games.  For the week, Hazelton total 25 strikeouts in 14 innings (12.50 K per 7 innings).  She produced an ERA of 1.00, allowing two earned runs and collected two complete game victories.

This is Hazelton's first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.

Player of the Week: Stocktyn Stevenson, Dickinson State (N.D.)

Stevenson, a junior utility from Hooper, Utah, was selected as Player-of-the-Week.

Stevenson batted .643 (9-of-14 at the plate) with an OPS of 1.524 while driving in five runs as Dickinson State (N.D.) went 2-2 record in the American State Bank Sports Complex dome tournament in Sioux Center, Iowa. 

She recorded multi-hits in all four games, recording at least two hits in each game.  Stevenson hit a triple drove in four runs in DiSU's 25-1 rout over Waldorf (Iowa). 

Stevenson added a slugging percentage of .857 for the weekend with a triple, double, and seven singles.

This is Stevenson's first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
