VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The Valley City State Men's and Women's Track and Field teams will be heading north this weekend for the UND Open and Multi in Grand Forks.

Leading the way for the Men will be Cameron Champagnie who will compete in four events. Champagnie. His season best 13.85-meter Triple Jump at the Bison Team Cup on January 17^th is currently third all-time behind his 14.00 which he did last year. His 6.69-meters in the Long Jump is currently fourth all-time. Aaron Cutshall is in three events and his season best Long Jump of 6.60 at the Mike Thorson Classic is currently sixth all-time. Zach Baumgartner is competing in the 1-Mile and 800 Meters. He is currently fifth all-time in the 1-mile with his time of 4:33.97 which he did last week at the Cobber Alumni Classic. His time of 2:01.18 in the 800 Meters is currently sixth all-time. He hit that mark at the Bison Team Cup this year.

For the Women, Billie Maye Pohlkamp and Grace Backstrom will compete in three events. Backstrom's season best in the High Jump is 1.59m which she did last week at the U-Mary Winter Classic. Pohlkamp entered the top five All-Time in the 1000 meters with her time of 3:38.08 at the Cobber Alumni Classic last week. Carlee Fuchs is the currently second all-time in the Weight Throw. Her throw of 15.16m at the Mike Thorson Classic in December moved her behind Jade Azure who set the mark last season at 15.26.
