DICKINSON, N.D. – The Valley City State Track and Field team was in Dickinson for the Frontier Conference Track and Field Championships at the Biesiot Activities Center, in Dickinson.
The Viking men finished seventh overall. The women finished ninth overall.
It was another good meet for the Vikings with more personal bests set and two school records were nearly set.
For the men,
Jordan Mount led the way with two personal bests, and an All-Conference performance. He finished just .01 seconds away from the school record in the 200m and .05 seconds away from the school record in 100m. He totaled 14 points for the Vikings, placing third in the Long Jump, sixth in the 100m and 200m, and was part of the 4x100 relay team that placed fourth. Another great individual performance came from
Joel Nelson who finished seventh in the Decathlon, the second highest freshman placer and now holds the third highest Decathlon score in school history.
Tommy Baldwin had personal bests in the 100m and 200m,
Parker Jacobson had a personal best in the 100m. Jeffry Rosinski set a personal high in the Triple Jump.
Jacob Lowery and
Nevin Daley each had personal bests in the Hammer for the men.
On the women's side,
Frida Barrera took third in the 1500m to earn All-Conference status.
Ava Krier had two personal bests in the 100m and 200m.
Peyton Sauter had a personal best in the 100m, and
Jonica Taylor had a personal best in the 400m.
Billie Maye Pohlkamp had a personal best in the 1500m.
The throwers had another good day for the women.
Greta McKenney had a personal best in the Shot Put and the Hammer.
Rylan Parsley and
Delaney Cotton also had personal bests in the Hammer.
