Valley City State Softball is set to take on the University of Jamestown for its home opener this weekend at the VCSU Softball Complex.
 
VCSU will take on the Jimmies at 2/4 p.m. on Saturday and 12/2 p.m. on Sunday. Live coverage will be available for all games at the link below. Sunday's doubleheader will be broadcast on KOVC 1490 AM/96.3 FM.

VCSU is 16-15 overall and 5-3 in conference play this season. Jamestown is currently receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll and hold a 24-9 overall record and an 8-0 mark in the North Star. VCSU took a 9-3 victory over Jamestown at the Nelson Family Bubble back on Feb. 21.
 
Jamestown currently leads the conference with a .343 batting average and total 83 extra-base hits. The Vikings lead the North Star with 23 home runs and total 75 extra-base hits. Jimmie pitchers boast a 2.91 ERA on the season while Viking pitchers total 192 strikeouts (6.86 per 7 innings).
