The Valley City State University softball team opens its 2025 season this Friday and Saturday at the University of Jamestown Dome. It is the first of two tournaments the Viking softball team will play in the Jamestown Dome this spring.
 
On Friday, VCSU will face NCAA Div. II teams Northern State at 9 a.m. and Montana State University Billings at 1:30 p.m. The Vikings will then face Dakota Wesleyan at 2:30 p.m. and rematch Northern State at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. All games will have live coverage.

VCSU was selected to finish second in the NSAA Preseason Coaches' Poll and returns a core of its starters from last season including seniors Alyssa DePoorter, Ashlyn Diemert, Makenzee Stone and Maddy Zander.
