BROOKINGS, S.D. – Valley City State University claimed five individual conference titles and set four school records with 12 All-Conference performances on their way to third place team finishes for the women's and men's indoor track and field teams Sunday at the NSAA Indoor Championships.
VCSU's
Karly Just took home a pair of conference titles in the 3000-meter and 5000-meter. Just finished the 5000-meter with a school record time of 18:44.13. Viking freshman
Jordan Mount claimed the conference title in the 400-meter with a time of 49.27.
Cameron Champagnie, a sophomore, won conference titles in the long jump (6.54 meters) and the triple jump (13.16 meters).
The Vikings also set four school records while at the NSAA Conference Championships. Viking senior
Jade Azure set the school record weight throw with a 15.26-meter attempt. Just completed the 5000-meter with a school record time of 18:44.13. Viking freshman
Jordan Mount broke a pair of school records in the 200 and 400-meter race. Mount ran the 200-meter with a time of 22.48 earning third in the event. He ran the 400-meter with a time of 49.27 earning first in the event.

As a team, the Viking women finished in third of five teams, scoring 75 points.
Karly Just was awarded the NSAA Women's Indoor Track Athlete-of-the Meet, scoring the most points in the running events with 26.5 points. Just earned the NSAA Women's Track Athlete-of-the-Meet for the first time in program history. VCSU's women recorded two titles, one second place, and two third place finishes. Last week
Emma Muggli broke the school record in the Pentathlon, and those points go towards today's conference meet. In total, the Vikings had 14 top eight finishes.
The Viking men also finished in third place Sunday, scoring 87 points. VCSU's performance was highlighted by three individual championships including two from
Cameron Champagnie and one from
Jordan Mount. They also recorded three second and third place finishes. In total, the Viking men finished with 14 top eight finishes.

Aaron Cutshall were recognized as NSAA Champions of Character. The official list of the North Star Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field All-Conference will be announced Tuesday.
