MOORHEAD, MINN. – The Valley City State University men's and women's track and field teams competed in Moorhead, Minn. at the Cobber Open on Saturday Jan. 25.
 
Viking women produced one first, two runner ups, and ten top eight finishes at the Cobber open. Viking men earned one first, one runner up and 18 top eight finishes.
 
Results
 
VCSU women went 1, 2, 3 in the women's 800-meter led by Jasmine Barnes with a time of 2:38.67. She was followed by Emma Muggli, with a time of 2:46.53 and Tennasyn Henry with a time of 3:40.32.
 
In the women's long jump Emma Muggli earned second with a 4.58-meter attempt. She also earned fifth in the 60-meter hurdles.
 
Vikings women finished second, fifth and eighth in the shot put, led by Kendra Odegard, followed by Sadie Hansen, and Emma Bastian.
 
Carlee Fuchs finished fourth in the weight throw with a 14.24-meter attempt. She was followed by Jade Azure with a 13.79-meter throw.
 
Viking men had second, third, and seventh in the 60-meter with Aaron Cutshall, Cameron Champagnie, and Tayshaun Robinson.
 
In the 800-meter the Vikings went three (Gage Gunther), four (Zach Baumgartner), five (Brackin Awender), and six (Isaac Eichhorst)
 
Cameron Champagnie earned first place honors with a 6.49-meter jump in the long jump.
 
Jagger Dickman and Jim Miller earned seventh and eighth in the shot put.
 
Zeke Barnick grabbed seventh in the triple jump.
 
Vikings had four top eight finishes in the weight throw, Cody Frounfelter (third), Jacob Berg (sixth), Jagger Dickman (seventh), and Arie Bratrud (eighth).
 
Lastly Vikings 4x400 meter relay teams earned third, fifth, and sixth.
