COLUMBIA, MO. – Valley City State's junior
Karly Just ran the second fastest 6K time in school history during the NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships.
At the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo., Just ran a 22:30.5 finishing in 76
th place in a field of 327. Her 76
th place finish is the highest nationals finish by a VCSU women's cross-country runner in over 30 years. Her run today was 2.7 seconds shy of her own school record set earlier this season in Bismarck, N.D.
NAIA Championship Results
This season Just has produced four of the top five 6K time in school history. She set the 6K school record for the first time at Dickinson with at time of 23:21.6. She later recorded a 23:24.7 at the Jimmie invite. Just reset the school record with a 22:27.8 at the Marauder Invite. She finished runner up with a 23.23.4 make nationals and recorded a 22:30.5 nearly setting the school record once more.
To wrap up a successful season Just is now a one-time national qualifier, two-time NSAA all conference runner, and one-time NAIA Scholar Athlete.
