MOORHEAD, Minn. – The first Cross Country meet for Valley City State is in the books. The Vikings were in Moorhead to compete in the MSU-M Dragon Invite. The men were lead by 
Mason Brehmer and the women were paced by 
Karly Just. Both runners set school standards at the meet.
For the women, senior 
Karly Just placed seventh overall and was the top non D1 runner in the field. Her time of 17:54.8 set a new school record in the 5K. Freshman 
Frida Barrera placed 15
th with a time of 18:46.4 which puts her in fourth place all-time in the 5K. Freshman 
Paiton Flick was 30
th with a time of 19:51.8
On the men's side, junior 
Mason Brehmer placed 17
th with a time of 18:38.1 which set a new school record in the 6K. Freshman 
Kole Albers was not far behind. He placed 19
th with a time of 18:53. In 21
st place was sophomore 
Zach Baumgartner with a time of 19:08.5. Sophomore 
Tate Minnihan was 25
th with a time of 19:32.0 and senior 
Isaac Eichhorst was 32
nd with a time of 20:29.3.
As a team, the Vikings placed 4
th overall.
