MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Valley City State Vikings' Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams were in Moorhead, Minn. for the, 11
th Annual Dragon Twilight Invitational.
On the Men's side, Sophomore Kole Albers led the way for the Vikings a time of 19:16.8. Junior Zach Baumgartner had a solid start the season. The Viking's had three personal bests set on the day and took seventh as a team.
"I'm thrilled with the men's performance from top to bottom in our first race of the year," Coach Greg Keeler said. "Kole Albers was especially impressive today and really stood out. We beat some good teams, and this is definitely a performance we can build on."
For the women, Sophomore
Frida Barrera had a great start to the season finishing eighth. She was the only runner not from the University of North Dakota in the top twelve. She finished with a time of 18:59.0.

Billie Maye Pohlkamp,
Lorissa Thompson all had personal bests for the Vikings.
"I was incredibly impressed with the women's performance today," Coach Keeler said. "Frida picked up right where she left off last season, and our younger runners learned valuable lessons that can only be learned by racing. They should all be very pleased with their race."
Next Up for the Vikings will be the Augustana Invitational on Friday, September 25
th in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
