The Valley City State golf teams have each been selected to finish fifth in the conference standings, the NSAA office announced Wednesday.
 
The Viking women collected 14 points while VCSU's men earned 12 points in the preseason poll.
 
Bellevue is the women's golf head coaches' preseason favorite to win the NSAA title for the fifth consecutive year. Bellevue earned all six first place votes and 36 points to grab the top spot.

Viterbo was picked to finish second after collecting 29 points, followed by Waldorf in third with 25 points. 

Dickinson State edged out Valley City State by two points (16-14) to finish fourth in the poll.  Mayville State (N.D.), newcomer to the North Star Athletic Association golf conference, finished sixth with six points.

On the men's side Bellevue was selected as the preseason favorite to win the conference title. The Bruins are looking to capture their fifth consecutive league title and their seventh title in the span of nine seasons. 

Bellevue finished sixth in last year's NAIA Men's Golf National Tournament.  The Bruins earned five first place votes and 35 points to secure the top spot.  Dickinson State was picked to finish second in the preseason poll after registering 29 points. Waldorf picked up the final first place vote and recorded 26 points to place third in the poll.

Viterbo was picked to finish fourth with 18 points, followed by Valley City State fifth with 12 points.  Mayville State, who is the newcomer to NSAA Golf in 2023-24, finished sixth with six points.

The North Star Athletic Association Conference Tournament will be hosted by Viterbo on April 29-30, 2024.

The winner of the NSAA Golf Conference Tournament will receive an automatic team bid to the national tournament. The NAIA Women's Golf National Tournament is slated to take place at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., on May 14-27, 2024. The NAIA Men's Golf National Tournament remains at Dalton Golf and Country Club in Dalton, Ga., on May 21-24, 2024.
