Valley City State dropped a non-conference match to University of Jamestown Wednesday night in three sets, 25-12, 25-18, 25-16.

Katie Juarez led the Vikings with a team-high 10 kills and seven digs Wednesday night, but it wasn't enough to take down the Jimmies who recorded a .441 hitting percentage as a team en route to the victory.

University of Jamestown improves to 4-0 this season. Valley City State drops to 2-6 overall.

The Jimmies started out strong with 16 kills and just one error in the first set as they rallied to a 25-12 victory.

Valley City State heated up in the second set, holding six ties with Jamestown up to 13-13 on a kill from Katie Juarez. From there, the Jimmies scored the next nine straight points to command a 22-13 lead. The Vikings weren't finished though as they scored five of the next seven points, capped by a kill from Caitlyn Fischbach. A kill from Jamestown's Nicole Schmitz put it away for the Jimmies, securing the second set 25-18.

Jamestown continued their momentum through the third set, leading by as much as 13 points at 20-17. Morganne Eppard then served back-to-back aces for the Vikings as they worked to close the gap to seven points at 21-14. Valley City State could not get closer as they fell in the final set, 25-16.

Kallene Klever tallied a team-high 10 digs and Morganne Eppard added seven digs and two service aces for the Vikings. Nissa Johnson tallied 8 kills, while Clarissa Hilary tallied 18 set assists.

University of Jamestown recorded 47 kills Wednesday, led by Kalli Hegerle who tallied a team-high 11 kills. Jayla Ritter added nine, while Anna Holen and Taylor Sabinash each added seven. Hannah Schiele tallied a game-high 19 digs for the Jimmies and Jackie Mieklejohn recorded 27 assists.
