VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association has announced it 2025 women's volleyball All-American teams for the NAIA. Valley City State University's
JayCee Richter was named to the Honorable Mention All-American list.
Richter, a 5-9 senior Libero from Linton, North Dakota was also named 1
st Team All-Conference in the Frontier Conference and Defender of the Year in the Frontier Conference.
Richter set the school career digs record in a match against Rocky Mountain late in the season. Richter finished the season with 623 digs, averaging 6.05 digs per set. Her 2,084 career digs are tops on the list. Her 5.44 career digs/set is the third highest total in program history. The 623 is the fourth most in a single season and the 6.05 digs per set is also the fourth best in Viking history.
For the week ending on October 26
th, Richter garnered Defender of the Week in the Frontier Conference and she was named Defender of the Week in the NAIA. She also was named Defender of the Week for the week ending September 15
th.
Richter was also an Academic All-Conference selection majoring in Health Sciences and Chemistry.
Richter is the seventh VCSU volleyball player to be named an All-American. She joins Jackie Bisson (1996), Heidi Larson (2009), Clarissa Olson (2017, 2018), Bailey Nelson (2022),
Sadie Hansen (2023, 2024), and
Macy Fridgen (2024). This is also the fourth year in a row a Viking player has been named All-American.
