HELENA, Mont. – Valley City State's volleyball player
Rosie Anderson has been named the Vikings recipient of the Champions of Character Award for the Frontier Conference.
The 2025 Frontier Conference Volleyball Champions of Character recipients, presented by
WinWon Technologies, were announced during the awards ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 12 prior to the conference tournament hosted by Carroll College at the PE Center on Nov. 13-15.
The head coach from each Frontier Conference member selects the recipient that fits to the NAIA's Champions of Character initiative program's five cores that include integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
The mission of the NAIA's Champions of Character program is to provide training to instill the values that build character so that students, coaches, and parents know, do, and value the right thing on and off the field.
The Champions of Character program helps participants find balance by keeping the five core values – integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership – at the heart of the athletics experience. In the NAIA, we strive to be The Right Way To Play!
Anderson, a senior from Moorhead, Minnesota, joined the Viking Volleyball team for her junior and senior season. She totals 198 kills on a 0.149 hitting percentage. She recorded a career-high 12 kills against Mayville State and a career-high 8 blocks against Dordt both last season. In her Viking career, Rosie has 76 blocks and 71 digs. Rosie will graduate in May with a degree in business administration with a minor in marketing.
Here is what Coach Meiklejohn said about Anderson:
"Rosie exemplifies integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. Her leadership skills and trust she has built amongst her teammates set her apart from other leaders. She practices selflessness daily and is truly a champion of character."
