Viking baseball resumes Florida trip with two games this weekend.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Valley City State Viking baseball team will continue its Florida trip this weekend after two days off.

VCSU is 1-3 on the trip thus far after a pair or tough close loses to Northwestern and Waldorf. They are 7-8 on the season.

Valley City State has hit .336 in Florida so far in its first four games. They have averaged nine runs a game as well.

Kaden Rozdeba has led the offense in the Sunshine State by 7 for 17 (.412) in four games. He has three doubles; a home runs and six RBI. Evan Gonzalez, Hunter Logan, Cody Wielgosh, Brady Papineau, and Alexis Velasco all have six hits in four games. Gonzelez has three home runs and has driven in six. Logan has five RBI, Wielgosh has a home run, two RBI, and has scored seven runs. Papineau has a triple, three RBI, and four runs scored, Velasco has two doubles, two RBI, and three runs scored.
Logan leads the team with a .356 batting average on the season. He and Rozdeba are tied for the team lead with nine RBI. Evan Gonzalez leads the team with three home runs.

Saturday, the Vikings play Dordt University out f the GPAC. They two teams have played 14 times with VCSU holding an 8-6 advantage. Dordt has won the last two meetings. Prior to that, VCSU had won three in a row. Dordt is 8-6 on the season, including a sweep of #3 Southeastern on Tuesday. The Fire dropped to #8 when the new poll came out Wednesday.

On Sunday, VCSU plays Aquinas College from Michigan. This will be the first meeting ever between the two teams. The Saints are 4-5 on the season. They play two games Friday, two Saturday, and one Sunday before they take on Valley City State.

Valley City State will have single games Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday next week before returning north for the Frontier Conference Preseason Round Robin in Sioux Falls, South Dakota March 21st and 22nd.
