VALLEY CITY, N.D. – Valley City State University Baseball has announced the addition of Phillip Hindes as an assistant coach.
A native of Tucson, Arizona, Hindes began his collegiate baseball career at Rainy River Community College in International Falls, Minnesota, where he played for two seasons. He then transferred to the University of Minnesota Crookston and competed for three more seasons while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Recreation Management.
After completing his playing career, Hindes returned to Rainy River to begin his coaching journey. He spent three seasons coaching at his former school and giving back to the community that had made a lasting impact on him.
"I'm excited for the new opportunities and challenges at Valley City State," said Hindes. "I look forward to learning, growing and contributing to the Viking baseball program."
Outside of baseball, Hindes enjoys golfing, traveling and continuing to learn from other coaches he has met throughout his career.
