MEDORA, N.D. – The Valley City State cross country competed in their second event of the season at the DSU Invite.
This invite featured runners from Black Hills State, Dickinson State, University of Jamestown, Bismarck State, MSU – Billings, and Valley City State.
Karly Just led Viking women with a school record 6K time of 23:21.6 that earned a 3
rd place at the DSU Invite in a field of 46 athletes. She was followed by
Jasmine Barnes taking 15
th with a time of 24:51.5.
Sophia Night finished with a time of 34:25.7.
The Viking men recorded a 5
th place team score in a field of 5. In the men's 8K
Rigo Garcia led Viking men with a 25
th place finish with a time of 28:59.2 in the 45-runner field.
Zach Baumgartner recorded a 29:37.7 for a 31
st place finish.
Tate Minnihan ran a 30:11.1 finishing 37
th. Finishing 39
th Gage Gunther, recorded a time 30:52.7.
Brackin Awender,
Garet Hoke, and
Isaac Eichhorst finished 43, 44, and 45 respectively.
