BISMARCK, N.D. – Valley City State Cross County competed Friday at the Marauders Open in Bismarck, N.D. This was their fourth of five events on the schedule this year.
On the women's side, this race featured the teams U-Mary, Minot State, and Bismarck State. In a field of 41 runners, VCSU's
Karly Just,
Jasmine Barnes, and
Emily Hatlewick competed as individuals in the 6K.
Karly Just, finishing in seventh, bested her own school record with a time of 22:27.8, nearly a minute faster then her best earlier this season.
Jasmine Barnes finished 15
th with a time of 23:14.6, and
Emily Hatlewick finished 41
st with a time of 29:47.3.
On the men's side, the 8K race featured teams from Northern State, U-Mary, Bismarck State, Minot State, and Valley City State. The men ran an 8k in a field of 49 runners with some individuals.
Tate Minnihan led the men from VCSU with a time of 28:22.4, good for a 31
st place finish. Taking 36
th,
Zach Baumgartner finished with a time of 29:01.6.
Brackin Awender and
Garet Hoke finished 41
st and 42
nd with 29:47.0 and 29:56.1 respectively.
Isaac Eichhorst rounded out VCSU's performance with a 47
th place finish with a time of 30:44.9.
UP NEXT: VCSU Cross Country will host the NSAA Championships at the Valley City Town & Country Club on Friday, Nov. 8.
