The VCSU cross country team is set to open the 2023 season this weekend in Moorhead.
 
The Vikings will compete at the MSUM Dragon Twilight Meet on Friday night. The women's race starts at 7:30 p.m. with the men's race to follow at 8:10 p.m. This year's course is located at Nemzek Stadium on the campus of MSU-Moorhead.

It is the first of five scheduled meets this season for VCSU. The Vikings are also scheduled to run at the Roy Griak Invitational (Sept. 22), the U-Mary Invite (Sept. 29), the Jimmie Invite (Oct. 6) and the NSAA Conference Championships (Nov. 3).
 
Both the Viking men and women were picked to finish fifth in the NSAA Preseason Coaches' Poll. VCSU is led by head coach Laquone Robinson (4^th season) and associate head coach Taryn Brown (1^st season).
