VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The Valley City State Men's and Women's Cross Country team will back in action Friday when they head to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for the Augustana Invitational.
Last time out, the Vikings competed at the Dragon Twilight Invitational at Minnesota State-Moorhead.
The Viking men were led by Sophomore
Kole Albers with a time of 19:16.8. VCSU had three personal bests for the men on the day.
"After a strong showing at Moorhead, I am excited to see how the men handle their first 8000m race of the year," Coach Greg Keeler said. "Both Kole and Zach have experience running the 8k distance, so I expect them to build on last year's results."
For the women, Sophomore
Frida Barrera finished eighth overall and was the top NAIA runner at the race. The women also had three personal bests on the day.
"Friday will be a great opportunity for Frida to compete against top-level competition on a fast course as she works to return to NAIA Nationals, "Coach Keeler said. "Our freshmen women learned a lot about racing at the college level during our last meet at Moorhead, and I am excited to see how they make the transition from the 5K to the 6000m distance."
The Men begin at 10:15a.m. and the Women start at 11:00 a.m.at Yankton Trail Park IN Sioux Falls.
