VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The Valley City State University Viking Junior Varsity football team will be in action Saturday when they host Central Lakes College out of Brainerd, Minnesota. Gametime is 1 p.m. on Saturday September 12^th at Lokken Stadium/Dacotah Bank Field.

This will be the first Junior Varsity game in recent memory for Valley City State. For the Vikings, the team will be made up of players who do not travel with the varsity team, redshirt freshmen, with a few older players as well.

Players to watch for VCSU Freshman quarterback Gabe Whipple from Kindred, North Dakota; Canon Betts, Freshman Wide Receiver and Kick Returner from Rochester, Washington; Freshman Wide Receiver Titan Figueroa from Aiea, Hawaii; Freshman Offensive Lineman Chidubem Ozoagu from Cerritos, California, Collin Peck, Sophomore Running Back from Soldotna, Alaska; Jack Miller, Freshman Defensive Lineman from Fargo, North Dakota; Freshman Oliver Melin from Trail, Minnesota. Junior Linebacker Anthony Madsen from Ellssworth, Wisconsin; Solomon Harris, Freshman Defensive Back from Bakersfield, California; and Brooklan Bruce, Freshman Defensive Back from Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Central Lakes College comes in with a 0-2 record on the season with losses to St. John's University's JV and Minnesota North College. In last week's loss to the MNC, running back Maurice Kirksey rushed for 160 yards and three touchdowns.

Brandon Bouma will be the head coach for the Vikings. Raynor Beierle will be the offensive coordinator, and Nate Pecoaro will be the defensive coordinator.

The game is free and open to the public so come out to Lokken Stadium and watch the Viking Junior Varsity football team take on the Central Lakes College Raiders Saturday at Lokken Stadium/Dacotah Bank Field with the kickoff set for 1 p.m.
