VALLEY CITY, N.D. – After a month off, the Valley City State Track and Field team will be back at it this weekend as the indoor season starts up again. The Vikings will be in Fargo for the Bison Team Cup at the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track and Field Facility on the campus of North Dakota State University on Saturday, January 17
th.
Valley City State will be taking 32 athletes to Fargo to compete in 16 different events. Other schools at the meet will be Minnesota State-Moorhead, North Dakota State University, and the University of North Dakota.
For the Viking Women, Ava Krier will be competing in the 60 Meters and the 200 Meters. Ryan Parsley and Carlee Fuchs will be competing in the Shot Put and Weight Throw. Grace Backstrom will compete in the High Jump and the Long Jump. Peyton Sauter will compete in the 200 Meters. Kiana Hilary and Greta McKenney will compete in the Shot Put. Caitlyn Armbrust will compete in the Triple Jump. And Megan Lahtonen will be competing in the Weight Throw.
For the Men,
Parker Jacobson,
Tommy Baldwin, and
Brock Norton will be competing in the 60 Meters and 200 Meters.
Aaron Cutshall and
Porter Granger will compete in the 60 Meters and the Long Jump.
Cameron Champagnie will compete in the 60 Meters and the Triple Jump.
Jagger Dickman,
Jim Miller,
Nevin Daley,
Andrew Winczewski,
Arie Bratrud, and Jacob Lowrey will all compete in the Shot Put and the Weight Throw.
Zeke Barnick will be competing in the High Jump and the Long Jump.
Gage Gunther,
Isaac Eichhorst will compete in the 600 Meters.
Zach Baumgartner,
Tate Minnihan, and
Mason Brehmer will be competing in the 800 Meters.
Kole Albers will run in the 1 Mile race.
Kade Swenson will compete in the 60 Meters. Zac Kuznia will be competing in the Shot Put. Jeffry Rosnicki will be competing in the Long Jump, and
Cody Frounfelter will compete in the Weight Throw.
Running events begin at 3:00 p.m. and field events will begin at 1:00 p.m.
