VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The Valley City State University Viking golfers were in Laurel, Montana for the Beartooth Invitational, the second Frontier Conference Fall tournament.
As a team, the Vikings place seventh overall and
Zach St. Aubin finished tied for tenth. The Junior shot 220 (73-70-77) for the tournament.
Junior
Owen Haase carded a 223 (72-73-78) which was good enough to tie 14
th. Freshman
Nick Meisch shot a 236 (84-77-75) and was 31st, Freshman
John Renaud shot a 261 (90-85-86) to finish tied for 53rd. Senior
Wyatt Meisch was 55 with a 273 (87-89-97), while Sophomore
Howard Neustel shot a 274 (95-84-95) and finished 56
th.
Rocky Mountain College won the team title finishing 15 strokes ahead of second place Lewis-Clark State.
Jared Smith of Rocky Mountain College (67-68-72) and Andrea Artusini of Lewis-Clark State (67-71-69) tied for medalist honors with a three-round total of 207.
On the women's side, Senior
Sydney Carlson led the Viking women with a two-day total of 170 (83-87) which was good enough for 19
th place. Freshman
Sadie Neustel was 30
th with a total of 186 (92-94). Senior
Winter Oldrock was 37
th with a total of 216 (107-99)
Like the men, Rocky Mountain College won the team title, 28 strokes ahead of Montana Western. Grace Metcalf won medalist honors with a 149 (79-70).
