VALLEY CITY, N.D. – Members of the Valley City State University volleyball team took the stage during the Frontier Conference Media Day on Tuesday, August 6.

Michelle Meiklejohn was joined by senior outside hitter
Macy Fridgen and junior setter
Gracie Schumacher to talk about their outlook on joining the Frontier Conference.
The Frontier Conference women's volleyball season features a total of 22 conference matches. Each team will be playing home-and-away contests, with 11 home matches and 11 road contests. The top eight teams in the Frontier Conference will play in the postseason tournament, hosted by Carroll College, Nov. 13-15 in Helena, Mont.
When asked about her thoughts on joining the Frontier Conference, Coach Meiklejohn stated, "I get to do this with a bunch of people that I really love… and am excited for all the new adventures and the level of competition". The culture is what makes Viking Volleyball, Meiklejohn stated, "A lot of the previous alumni have set the tone, having high expectations for each other not only on the volleyball court but also academically, making my job as a coach easier."
Senior
Macy Fridgen was asked about her thoughts on the new travel schedule where she responded, "We're ready for it…It's all just a new experience and I think we are all really excited for it."
Gracie Schumacher stated, "Everyone is just so welcoming like a family...everyone cares about each other so much." when asked what the community is like at VCSU.
Viking Volleyball is set to start the season at home on Saturday, August 16
th at 11:00 a.m. hosting Dakota Wesleyan University at the W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse. They later travel to the Siouxland Invitational from Aug. 22-23 before hosting their first Frontier Conference game against Mayville State University on Wednesday, Sept. 3. They will close their Frontier Conference schedule on Saturday Nov. 8 at home against Dakota State University.
