ORLANDO, FLA. – Valley City State University baseball fell 10-9 against Lawrence Tech on Saturday, March 8.
The Vikings fell to 9-9 on the season and 4-4 on their trip to the RussMatt invitation. Lawrence Tech improves to 5-1 to start their season.
LT 10, VCSU 9
The Vikings fell just short in their comeback efforts losing 10-9 in the bottom of the ninth.
Jaden Babiuk was 3-for-6 on the night with one RBI and one run.
Kaden Rozdeba was 2-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs.
Lawrence Tech scored two runs in the first, one in the second, three in the third, and two in the fourth to take a commanding 8-0
VCSU responded in the fifth scoring two runs off a Rozdeba single. Later with the bases loaded
Hunter Logan was walked bring in the third run. In the sixth the Vikings tallied four more making the score 8-6. They scored three off a
Cam Pero triple with the bases loaded. Pero later scored on a passed ball.
Lawrence Tech scored one in the bottom of the sixth off an error making the score 9-7. The Vikings went on to score one in the seventh off a Babiuk single, and on in the ninth off a Rozdeba single to tie the game 9-9.
The Vikings fell in the bottom of the ninth giving up the game winning run.

Anthony Carrasquillo was credited the loss.
Hunter Magnuson made the start pitching almost three innings throwing one strikeout, giving up six runs and six hits. Lawrence Tech's Ryan Hulke was credited the win.
