Viking Baseball takes 5-2 victory over Lawrence Tech

ORLANDO, FLA. – Valley City State University Baseball defeated Lawrence Tech 5-2 on Wednesday, March 12.
 
The Vikings are now 10-11 on the season and 5-6 during their trip to Florida. Lawrence Tech falls to 5-5 on the season and are 4-3 at the RussMatt Invitational.

The Vikings score three in the fifth to take the lead, later taking a 5-2 win over Lawrence Tech. Viking Cam Pero was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and one walk. Brady Papineau was also 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
 
Lawrence Tech was the first on the board, scoring in the top of the first off a Zach Meier single taking a 1-0 lead.
 
The Vikings later responded in the bottom of the fifth, scoring two runs from a Brady Papineau on a bases loaded single to left field. Jamel Chabot followed with a sacrifice fly scoring a third making the lead 3-1.
 
Later in the bottom of the seventh the Vikings tallied two more runs from a Cam Pero double to right field earning two RBIs as Jaden Babiuk and Jamel Chabot scored giving the Vikings a 5-1 lead.
 
In the bottom of the ninth Lawrence Tech scored one on a sacrifice fly making it 5-2 where the game would end.
 
Viking pitcher Andrew Kim was credited the win after a five inning seven strikeout performance. Kim allowed only one run and four hits. Anthony Carrasquillo and Eli Chabot also made trips to the mound.
 
Lawrence Tech's Antonio Zeer was credited the loss after giving up three runs.
 
UP NEXT: The Vikings will play Judson University at 3/6 p.m. CT on Thursday, March 13.
