ORLANDO, FLA. – Valley City State University fall 6-5 to Trinity Baptist College in their first game of the RussMatt Invitational.
The Vikings fall to 5-6 on the season and 0-1 during the RussMatt Invitational in Orlando, Fla. TBC improves to 13-7 on the season.

The Vikings came up just short falling in the bottom of the ninth against TBC Saturday, Mar. 1. In the 6-5 loss, Viking
Kaden Rozdeba went 2-for-5 with one run.
Cody Wielgosh was 1-for-for with one RBI.
The Vikings scored the first run of the game in the top of the second off a
Cody Wielgosh single that drove in
Jaden Babiuk. Trinity Baptist responded in the bottom of the third tying the game 1-1.
Valley City State regained the lead in the top of the sixth making it 3-1.
Kaden Rozdeba doubled getting on base and
Hunter Logan was walked. Rozdeba and Logan steal second and third.
Diesel Goya was walked loading the bases. Rozdeba and Logan score on a wild pitch and error on catcher making it 3-1.
TBC rallied in the bottom of the seventh tying the game 3-3. Later in the bottom of the ninth the Vikings Goya scored on a Papineau ground out making it 4-3. Moments later
Jamel Chabot scored on a wild pitch bringing the score to 5-3
TBC tallied three runs in the bottom of the ninth making it 6-5 off of one wild pitch and two bases loaded walks.
Takao Cookson pitched six innings giving up three runs, six walks, while striking out six.
Grady Shipman was credited the loss pitching the second half of the bottom of the ninth. He had two walks, one run against, one error, and one strikeout.
