ORLANDO, FLA – The Valley City State University Baseball team took a 12-4 win over Siena Heights University for their first win in the RussMatt Invitational.
The Vikings improve to 6-6 on the season, 1-1 while in Florida. Siena Heights University is now 1-3-1 on their 2025 season, 1-2-1 while in Florida

The Vikings got off to a hot start tallying six runs in the first two innings frequently putting the ball in play with runners on base. They were led by
Kaden Rozdeba going 4-for-4 with two doubles, four RBI's and two runs.
Jaden Babiuk went 3-for-5 with two RBI's, and three runs.
The Vikings tallied three runs in the first inning. Babiuk got the Vikings first hit of the game with a single.
Brady Papineau was walked. Rozdeba doubled scoring Babiuk. Papineau scored off a Jusdon Seliskar ground out making it 2-0. Rozdeba then scored on a
Jamel Chabot ground out.
In the second the Vikings scored three more runs.
Hunter Logan scored after a
Connor Hoyt grounded out.
Daegen Morcom scored on a Babiuk ground out and Rozdeba hit a single scoring Papineau making it 6-0.
Siena Heights rallied in the third scoring four making it 6-4. The Vikings later responded in the fourth scoring two more off a Rozdeba double and Seliskar double making it 8-4.
Valley City State continued to grow their lead in the fifth with
Cody Wielgosh stealing home, a ground out by Babiuk scoring
Hunter Logan, and a Rozdeba single. The Vikings led 11-4 after the fifth. In the bottom of the sixth the Vikings earned on more off a Logan sacrifice fly making it 12-4 where the game would end.
Viking pitcher
Harrison Metz was credited with the win moving to 1-0 on the season. He gave up only one hit, two strikeouts and no walks.
Johan Freudenburg gave up four runs, four errors, two walks, while earning four strikeouts.
Andrew Kim,
Jacob Marx, and
Garrett Dykstra made appearance on the mound. No runs were earned while they were pitching.
Andrew Baum was credited the loss after pitching four innings giving up eight hits and eight runs for Siena Heights University
