Box Score The Viking women's basketball team rolled to an easy 93-22 victory over Trinity Bible College on Tuesday night.
The Vikings jumped out to a 25-2 lead after the first quarter and never looked back as they improved to 4-3 overall this season.
Five different Vikings scored in double figures and all five Vikings who played in the contest scored at least two points. VCSU had a season-high 29 assists in the victory, assisting on 29 of their 38 field goals.
VCSU shot 45 percent from the field (38-84), 39 percent on 3's (15-39) and 50 percent at the free throw line (2-4). Trinity Bible College shot 15 percent overall (7-47), 10 percent on 3's (2-20) and 75 percent at the line (6-8).
VCSU won the rebound battle, 47-27, including a 16-4 edge on the offensive glass. The Vikings had 19 steals and forced 29 turnovers. VCSU turned it over just four times.
Georgia Williams poured in 19 points and Sara Schwanke had 18 off the bench to lead VCSU's balanced attack. Ninja Bass, Kennedy Henningsgard and Lexi Lennon all posted 12 points. Hannah Schlecht had a team-high seven assists, and seven points. Nya Chakin pulled down 10 rebounds and blocked three shots in the victory, and Kaitlin Conor had eight points and seven rebounds.
Up next: Valley City State (4-3) travels to York College (Neb.) this weekend for two games at the York College Classic on Friday and Saturday.
