The VCSU Women's Basketball picked a 66-point win over Trinity Bible College on Tuesday night with a 98-32 victory. Double-digit points were grasped by three of the Viking's players.
The Vikings displayed some power under the hoop over the Trinity Bible Lions. VCSU had 52 total rebounds with 17 offensive and 35 defensive, and kept the Lion's to a total of 19. The Vikings kept a strong lead throughout the entire game.
Alli Vandal lead the team by scoring 16 points, Sara Schwanke followed with 14 points, and Mackenzie Huber scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds making her the leading rebounder.
The Lions also had two players that scored double digit points. Jaylen Newman and Janae Droste each ended the game with 13 points. Trinity Bible shot 24% (14 of 58) from the field goal.
The Vikings were strong from behind the arc shooting 50% (8 of 16). They also shot 57% (42 of 73) from the field overall, and 60% (6 of 10) from the free throw line.
VCSU Women's Basketball is now 5-5 overall (2-0 NSAA), and Trinity Bible is now 6-5 overall.
The Vikings have two more home games coming up this week. Friday night at 5:30 p.m. they have a conference match up against Waldorf College, and Saturday they will face Johnson & Wales University at 2 p.m. Both are doubleheaders with the Viking men.
