The Viking women's basketball team won its fourth straight game Wednesday night, going on the road to defeat Concordia-Moorhead, 66-59.

Trailing 42-39 midway through the second half, the Vikings ripped off a 12-3 run to take a 51-45 lead. VCSU would not trail the rest of the way. After Concordia cut the Viking lead to 58-57, Courtney Dixon scored inside with just over a minute remaining to make it 60-57. The Viking defense came up with a stop and Georgia Williams made 1-of-2 at the free throw line to put VCSU ahead 61-57 with 43 seconds to go.

Williams came up with a steal on the other end, and Sadiqah Jihad went 2-for-2 at the line to put the game out of reach.

Williams finished with a game-high 19 points, including a 4-for-9 night from beyond the 3-point line. Lexi Lennon poured in 13 points off the bench for VCSU, and Jihad added nine points. Sierra Even finished with seven points, nine rebounds and five assists, and Courtney Dixon had six points and nine rebounds.

The Vikings improve to 7-4 overall with their fourth straight win. Concordia drops to 5-4 overall.

VCSU shot 44 percent overall (22-50), 40 percent on 3's (6-15) and 70 percent on free throws (16-23). Concordia finished at 36 percent overall (22-61), 25 percent on 3's (5-20) and 48 percent on free throws (10-21).

Williams gave the Vikings a 3-2 lead with a 3-pointer in the first minute. Concordia quickly took the lead back and held it until midway through the second half. The Vikings would not lead again until the big 12-3 run in the second half that put them up for good at 51-45.

Up next: Valley City State (7-4) will play its third straight NCAA Division III opponent on Friday, Dec. 19, when the Vikings host University of Minnesota-Morris.
