Dustin Yorek is in his sixth season as an assistant coach for VCSU and is entering his fourth season as the offensive coordinator.
During his first season as offensive coordinator, Yorek helped lead the Vikings to an 8-2 overall record and a No. 15 national ranking during the 2021 season. The Viking offense had eight All-Conference selections in 2021, including three offensive linemen. Quarterback Jalen Pfeifer set numerous career records in 2021, including passing yards (9,519) and 99 career touchdowns responsible for (80 pass, 19 rush).
A former collegiate offensive lineman himself, Yorek became VCSU's full-time offensive line coach in 2020 after previously working with the tight ends during his first season. He continues to coach the offensive line while working as the offensive coordinator.
The Vikings had three All-Conference linemen in 2020, including 1st Team selections Troy Dietz and Sammy Trejo and 2nd Team selection Berkley Santos. In 2021, the Vikings had three offensive linemen named 1st Team All-Conference including Dietz, Trejo and Nick Radunz. Joseph Salas was named Honorable Mention All-Conference. The 2022 season saw both Sammy Trejo and Troy Dietz earn All-Conference as offensive lineman, and in 2023 with was Jacob Romero and Troy Dietz picking up the same honors.
Prior to joining the Viking staff, Yorek worked five seasons with the Presentation College football program – serving as student assistant and graduate assistant before working two years as a full-time coach for the Saints. While at Presentation College, Yorek worked with the offensive line along with roles of assistant strength coach, video coordinator, alumni relations and camp coordinator.
Yorek was an offensive lineman during his collegiate career, playing two years at Central Lakes College and two years at Presentation College. He was named All-Conference and a USA Small College Football All-American as a senior at Presentation College.
A native of Little Falls, Minnesota, Yorek earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Presentation College and a master’s degree in sports management from Wayne State College.
He currently resides in Valley City with his wife Alyssa and daughter McKinley.
