Brigitte Greywater

Brigitte Greywater is in her third season leading the VCSU volleyball program in 2022.

Greywater was named head coach of the VCSU volleyball program on Jan. 27, 2020. In 2020, the Vikings finished with a 4-20 overall record and a 3-11 conference record. Junior Katie Juarez was named 2nd Team All-Conference.

In 2021, VCSU held a 14-18 overall record and went 8-6 in conference play to finish in fourth place in the conference standings. Junior outside hitter Bailey Nelson was named 1st Team All-Conference and freshman setter Sadie Hansen was named 2nd Team All-Conference.

In 2022, VCSU went 11-17 overall and placed fifth in the conference standings with a 6-8 NSAA record. Senior outside hitter Bailey Nelson was named 1st Team All-Conference, AVCA All-Region and Honorable Mention All-American. Sophomore setter Sadie Hansen earned 2nd Team All-Conference and Honorable Mention AVCA All-Region in 2022.

Greywater previously worked as the head volleyball coach and director of counseling at Lake Region State College in Devils Lake, N.D. She guided the Royals for eight seasons as head coach. Greywater was hired as a counselor at Lake Region in 2011, and later that year was named head volleyball coach and tasked with re-starting the Lake Region volleyball program that had been discontinued in 2003.

The Royals resumed play in 2012, and in the program's second season Greywater guided the Royals to a 29-12 record and an appearance in the 2013 East Sub-Region XIII Tournament Championship. In 2018, the Royals posted a 25-13 record and advanced to the Region XIII semifinals.

Greywater has 13 years of volleyball coaching experience at the high school, NJCAA, NAIA and NCAA Div. II levels – including two years as an assistant coach at Minot State University. She has also coached softball, track and field, and girls' basketball at the high school level.

A native of Walhalla, N.D., Greywater earned a psychology degree from Minot State University while competing in volleyball and track and field for the Beavers. She also earned her post-master's degree as an Educational Specialist in School Psychology from Minot State. Greywater is married to her husband, Sheldon.
