Trevor Flemmer is entering his third season with the Valley City State University men's basketball program. In the summer of 2025, Flemmer was named Associate Head Coach for men's basketball.
In 2025-2026, the Vikings first year in the Frontier Conference, they just missed making the post season tournament, placing eighth in the regular season, tied with Mayville State. The Comets had the the breaker and reached the conference tournament. JR Cison earned second team All-Conference Honors for VCSU
In his first season, 2024-25, Flemmer helped coach the Vikings to a 6-0 start, their best start in over 20 years. The Vikings went on to have three All-Conference athletes. Tyrel Creger was First Team All-Conference, Lamar Grayson and Shaheed Muhammad were named Honorable Mention All-Conference.
He comes from Bethany College (Kansas) where he was the head coach in the 2023-24 season. Prior to that, Flemmer was the head coach at Presentation College in the 2022-23 season where he had to navigate through a season while the school announced its closing mid-season.
In 2018-2022, Flemmer was an associate head coach, interim head coach, and assistant coach at Dakota State University, where he helped lead the Trojans to the North Star Athletic Association championship game in 2020-21.
Flemmer has also been an assistant coach for Briar Cliff University (Iowa) during the 2017-18 season, taking the Chargers to the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Tournament quarterfinals (Elite Eight).
Prior to Briar Cliff, Flemmer was an assistant men's basketball coach at Riverland Community College in Austin, Minn. He helped guided the squad to a 22-8 record (22 wins was a school record at the time). Flemmer was also the head strength and conditioning coach for Riverland CC men's basketball team.
A native of Mitchell, S.D., Flemmer played collegiate basketball at Presentation from 2012-16. He graduated from Presentation with a bachelor's degree in exercise science in 2016 with honors of Magna Cum Laude (3.75 GPA). He earned NAIA scholar-athlete distinction, as well as North Star Athletic Association scholar-athlete award. He was the NSAA Champion of Character recipient during the 2015-16 season.
