Valley City State University

Nate Pecoraro enters his second season back on the Valley City State University football coaching staff in 2026. His previous coaching stints with the Vikings ran from 2010 through the spring of 2013 and from 2014 through the spring of 2017.

During his earlier tenure at VCSU, Pecoraro coached consecutive Conference Defensive Players of the Year in 2011 and 2012.

Pecoraro was also a standout player for the Vikings from 2001–05. A four-year starter, he earned All-Conference honors in 2005 and led the team in sacks during the 2003 season. He remains ranked among VCSU’s top 10 career leaders in tackles for loss. Pecoraro helped the Vikings win a conference championship in 2005 and was part of two national playoff teams during his playing career.

Pecoraro has also gained extensive coaching experience at the high school level. He helped East River High School (Orlando, Florida) reach the state playoffs twice and win a district championship, serving as the program’s defensive coordinator in 2017–20 after previously coaching there during the spring of 2013 and again in 2017. He returned to coach the freshman team in 2022.

In 2024, Pecoraro served as defensive coordinator for the Valley City High School Hi-Liners and helped guide the program to a runner-up finish in the West Division.
