Valley City State University

Entering the 2025 season, Leon Smith begins his first year as an Offensive Graduate Assistant with the Valley City State University football program, working with the offensive line.

Smith transitioned into coaching following a four-year playing career for the Vikings from 2020–2023. During the 2024 season, he served as a student assistant, contributing to offensive line development.

A native of El Paso, Texas, Smith graduated from Valley City State University in December 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science & Rehabilitative Studies. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching at VCSU while continuing his coaching career.
