Valley City State University

Entering the 2025 season, Jahidi West is in his second year on the Valley City State University football coaching staff. West serves as Special Teams Coordinator while coaching the defensive backs.

West is a former standout Viking linebacker who completed his playing career in 2023. He totaled 257 tackles and 14 interceptions, and holds the VCSU single-season interception record with 8 in 2021, which led the nation. He was a key contributor to multiple nationally ranked defensive units under longtime Defensive Coordinator Gregg Horner.

A native of Stockton, Calif., West graduated from Valley City State University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and is currently pursuing a Master of Education in Communication while continuing his coaching career.
