Entering the 2026 season, Dustin Yorek is in his eighth year on the Valley City State University football coaching staff and his sixth season as Offensive Coordinator. Yorek oversees the Vikings’ quarterbacks and wide receivers after previously coaching the offensive line and tight ends.
In 2025, four VCSU offensive players earned Frontier Conference East Division Honorable Mention recognition under Yorek’s leadership: quarterback Joey Cave, wide receiver Jake Deutsch, and offensive linemen Tommy Cox and Taylor Jones.
During his first season as Offensive Coordinator in 2021, Yorek helped guide the Vikings to an 8–2 overall record and a No. 15 national ranking. Eight VCSU offensive players earned all-conference recognition that season.
Yorek has consistently developed high-performing offensive units, particularly along the offensive line. From 2020–23, nine different offensive linemen earned all-conference recognition, including first-team honorees Troy Dietz, Sammy Trejo and Nick Radunz, Jacob Romero and others continued that standard in subsequent seasons, helping the Vikings establish a physical and efficient offensive front.
Before joining VCSU, Yorek spent five seasons with the Presentation College football program. He served as a student assistant, graduate assistant and full-time offensive line coach. His responsibilities also included supporting the program’s strength and conditioning efforts, coordinating video, assisting with alumni relations and working football camps.
A former collegiate offensive lineman, Yorek played two seasons at Central Lakes College before transferring to Presentation College. As a senior, he earned all-conference honors and was named a USA Small College Football All-American.
A native of Little Falls, Minnesota, Yorek holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Presentation College and a master’s degree in Sports Management from Wayne State College. He resides in Valley City with his wife, Alyssa, and their daughter, McKinley.
