VALLEY CITY, N.D. – Collin Peck had over 200 All-Purpose yards and scored three touchdowns as the Valley City State University Viking Junior Varsity downed Central Lakes College 34-6 Saturday afternoon at Dacotah Bank/Lokken Stadium.

The Vikings scored three times in the first quarter. Peck's first touchdown was a 34 yards scamper capping a two-play 43-yard drive that took 90 seconds off the clock. Christopher Rapozo's extra-point made it 7-0 Vikings with 10:48 to go in the first quarter.

Less than two minutes later, CLC would turn the ball over when Sean Ucciardi forced a fumble and recovered it at the Raiders 18-yard line. Rapozo kicked a 30-yard field goal to make it 10-0 VCSU with 9:08 to go in the first quarter.

Central Lakes turned the ball over on downs at their own 34-yard line. Five plays later, Gabe Whipple hit Michael Putnam for a six-yard touchdown. Rapozo's extra point was no good, making the score 16-0 VCSU with 4:13 to go in the first quarter.

There was no scoring in the second quarter.

Valley City State scored on its first drive of the second half. They went 78 yards on four plays; all four plays were Peck carries. The last one covered 29 yard for the touchdown. On the two-point conversion, the snap was low and holder Berkley Frantz picked up the low snap and dashed into the end zone for the conversion to make it 24-0 VCSU with 9:57 to go in the third quarter.

On the first play of the Vikings next drive, Peck raced 36 yards to pay dirt for his third and final touchdown of the game. It capped a one play drive that took six seconds off the clock. Rapozo's extra point made it 31-0.

After a short punt by the Raiders' Nashon Harris-Webster, the Vikings took over at the Raider's 22-yard line. The Vikings offense could only go three yards and had to settle for a 35-yard field goal that made it 34-0 with 6:05 to go in the third quarter.

Central Lakes only score came at the end of the game when quarterback Alex Morabito scored on a seven-yard run. On the conversion attempt, Morabito's pass was intercepted by the Vikings Cassidy Phillip. He would return it to near midfield before being tackled. The onside kick by the Raiders was recovered by Valley City at midfield. Gabe Whipple took a knee, and the Viking JV team had a 34-6 win.

Peck had 162 yards rushing on a 18 carries and three scores. He added two receptions for another 61 yards. Canon Betts had 53 yards rushing on eight carries. Gabe Whipple was eight for 22 for 111 yards and a touchdown.

Wyatt Sugg led the defense with nine tackles, two for a loss, a sack, a forced fumble and two pass breakups. Sean Ucciardi had nine tackles, two-and-a-half for a loss. A forced fumble and fumble recovery. Jack Miller and Tayveon Russell each had an interception for the Vikings.
