#11 Rocky Mountain spoils Senior Night for the Vikings

MOORHEAD, Minn. – Rocky Mountain College scored 57 points in the second half on the way to a 85-55 win over Valley City State University in Frontier Conference Men's Basketball at Concordia College in Moorhead in the regular season finale for both teams.

Valley City State ends the season 10-17 overall and 6-16 in the Frontier Conference. Rocky Mountain College is the regular season conference champs with a 20-2 record and are 25-3 overall.

The first half was low scoring and close with five lead changes early on. Valley City State's biggest lead came 70 seconds into the game as Alex Lester and Logan Deal each scored inside to give the Vikings a 4-0 with 18;50 to go in the first half. The teams would play leap frog as the five lead changes occurred in five consecutive baskets. The last lead change came when Rocky Mountain's Carter McCoy scored inside to give the Bears a 9-8 lead with 14:43 to go in the first half. They would not give up the lead the rest of the way.

The biggest lead of the half for the Bears came when Omari Nesbit came up with a steal and a layup to make it 23-15 RMC with 8:48 to go in the half. The Vikings would get the lead down to three on Taylor Bryant-Frey's bucket in the lane that made it 23-20 with 7:02 remaining in the half. Rocky Mountain College led 28-23 at the break.

The Bears pulled away with a 21-0 run over the span of 4:37. Kaleb Larson scored in the lane to make it 41-31 with 15:29 to go in the half. That was the last field goal for the Vikings until JR Cison scored with 10:00 to go in the second half.

The Vikings would score the next six points to get the lead down to 25, but that was as close as they would get the rest of the way.

Kaleb Larson led the Vikings with 18 points and added seven rebounds. JR Cison had eleven points and two assists. Alex Lester and Taylor Bryant-Frey each scored six points and Lester had five rebounds. Nick Carlson came
off the bench and scored five points in his final game as a Viking. Senior Caden Grinde had three points off the bench. Grinder, Carlson, Larson, and Cison were honored before the game as the lone seniors for the Vikings.
