VALLEY CITY, N.D. – Valley City State University Athletics welcomes Ben Becker as the new assistant sports information director, bringing experience in creative content, live sports production and collegiate athletics to the Vikings.

A native of Hutchinson, Minnesota, Becker graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead in 2025 with a degree in business marketing and a minor in journalism. He competed in cross country and track and field while working in the athletic department, creating content to highlight Concordia's teams and student-athletes.

Becker also held leadership roles with the Golden Cobbs sports awards show, serving as director of production for four years and executive director in 2026. Those roles provided experience coordinating productions and celebrating student-athlete accomplishments.

His professional background includes working as a live events producer in WDAY's sports department, where he handled broadcast production and technical directing for NDSU athletics and high school state championships.

Becker brings a valuable combination of creative content experience and technical production skills to VCSU Athletics. In his new role, he will support media relations, statistics, digital content and athletics communications while helping share the stories of Viking student-athletes.
