VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The Valley City State University volleyball team heads west this week for two Frontier Conference matches against North Dakota opponents.
The Vikings face Dickinson State on Thursday, Oct. 29, in Dickinson with first serve scheduled for 7 p.m. Central before traveling to Bismarck State on Friday, Oct. 30, for a 6 p.m. Central match. The matches mark VCSU's final road contests of the regular season.
VCSU enters the week at 8-17 overall and 6-12 in conference play after falling at Carroll College and Rocky Mountain College last weekend. The Vikings will look to rebound against two teams they defeated earlier this month in Valley City.
Madysen Geist led VCSU against Carroll with 11 kills on a .409 hitting percentage and four blocks. Molly Bjorneby added nine kills and a team-high 17 digs, while Eden Carrier also finished with nine kills. Gracie Schumacher recorded 24 assists and 10 digs, and Madden Bogenreif contributed 18 assists and 12 digs as the Vikings pushed the Saints through four closely contested sets.
Thursday gives the Vikings an opportunity to complete a season sweep of Dickinson State after earning a straight-set victory Oct. 2. VCSU will then seek another win against Bismarck State after outlasting the Mystics in five sets Oct. 1.
