Valley City State had 11 winter student-athletes named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes, the national office announced Wednesday.
 
Those earning the national award and competing on the men's and women's basketball teams include Ashlyn Diemert, Avery Kuklinski, Delaney Cotton, Ellie Braaten, Ellie Powell, Elyse Hebrink, JayCee Richter, Klaire Cotton, Madison Spacher, Olivia Backus and Sam Kobbervig.
 
To qualify as a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year.
