VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The Valley City State University Vikings will have one more game before breaking for the Holidays. The Tigers of Dakota Wesleyan come to the Bubble for a matinee on Saturday, December 20
th. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
The Vikings will be looking to ger back on the winning track against the Tigers. The last time these two teams got together, Valley City State scored late in the game top pull out an 88-84 win in Mitchell, South Dakota.
Freshman
Joel Nelson scored twelve of his 16 points in the second half, including a jump hook in the lane that gave the Vikings the lead for good with 1:19 remaining in the second half. He made two free throws with 2.2 seconds to go to seal the win.
Also in double figures with Nelson were
JR Cison who scored twelve points.
Kaleb Larson finished with twelve and
Nez Chehade had eleven off the bench along with eight rebounds and three assists.
Taylor Bryant-Frey had eight points for VCSU.
Alex Lester and
Caden Grinde each had six points. Lester added eight rebounds and Grinde had two steals.
Valley City State comes into the game 4-7 on the season. Dakota Wesleyan is 5-8 on the year. Both teams are looking to get back on the winning track heading into the holiday break.
