Men's Basketball falls in tough matchup against Bellevue University

In a challenging NSAA basketball matchup, the Valley City State University Vikings were defeated by the Bellevue University Bruins with a final score of 105-66 on Dec. 14, 2024, at the Lozier Athletic Center.

The Vikings are now 8-4 on the season and 0-1 in conference play. Bellevue is now 7-5 and 1-1 in conference play.

Early in the first half, Bellevue found an early 8-4 lead. There they went on a 12-2 run growing their lead to 20-6 in the first six minutes of the game. With 6:55 remaining in the first half the Bruins held a 35-20 lead. The Bruins went on another run growing their lead to 59-31 at halftime. Despite the Vikings second half efforts, Bellevue's early lead proved too substantial to overcome and the game ended 105-66.

VCSU's Lamar Grayson led the scoring for the Vikings with 17 points, followed closely by LaDarious Stanfield with 14 points. Shaheed Muhammad also contributed 10 points to the team's effort. 

Bellevue was led by TJ Fritz who scored 26 on the night. JJ Montgomery and Emarr Vinson contributed 17 and 15 points respectively.
